When the new year begins, Bostonians will find themselves in a familiar situation: they’re still reeling from the winter’s havoc, and with a new year comes new breweries.
There’s only one new brewery in the entire state, and that’s Weyerbacher Brewing Co., which is in the process of opening a brand new brewery, Weyerbeere Brewing Co. Weyerbrewing Co. will be the latest craft brewery to open in Boston.
In order to give Bostonians a bit of a break from the chaos of winter, Weierbacher will be launching in Springfield in April.
The brewery will be a mix of a full-on microbrewery and the traditional American style brewpub, and the brewpub will be named after the legendary Weyer beer.
While the name Weyer has long been associated with beer, Weyger is known as a beer that’s often considered the ancestor of the American craft beer movement.
The first brewpub was opened in Boston in 1782, and weyerbagers have since grown to include many different types of beers, including some of the best in the world.
For more than 100 years, the city of Boston has had the largest concentration of craft breweries in the country.
While many breweries have been shuttered in recent years, many have reopened, and Boston continues to lead the way as the nation’s brewing capital.
As a result, the craft beer industry has exploded over the past few years, with craft breweries such as Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.’s in San Francisco and Stone Brewing Co.; and the craft breweries themselves.
While there’s been plenty of consolidation in the industry, there have also been some successes, with local breweries such a Goose Island and Elysian Brewing Co, as well as international brewers like New Holland Brewing Co and Three Floyds Brewing Co having found success.
Now, with the emergence of new breweries opening up in Boston, the beer scene is starting to change.
While craft beers are still in their infancy, there’s a lot of buzz surrounding craft beer right now.
In fact, a recent survey found that beer drinkers in the U.S. have increased their consumption of craft beers by nearly 40% over the last five years.
While Boston is still a big market for the craft-brewing industry, it’s also a hotbed of beer culture.
And as the years go by, it looks like this trend is only going to continue.
